Books by Year

Hi all,

Wikipedia has a great list of the year and Books in Literature during that year, also included in that list is poetry also written then. I've used this source along with Google books to look for and read various books or portions of novels for a feel of what my characters might be reading at the time. In a proposal that I worked on I had a character reading a mystery in French. She was born and raised in America so how did she have such a great understanding of the French language that she could read a novel in French and enjoy it? Her grandmother was French and her mother passed on the love of the French language to her children as well as being able to communicate with their grandmother.

Today's post is to inform you of this service available at Wikipedia as well as to challenge you to consider what your characters might be reading and why.
